The functions of the 2D Explorer

Create a new Event - directory

Before you start to the data from the  you should define the current event directory at which your data will be saved. If you would like to create a new event directory, start the 2D Explorer window from our Front-end tool. Therefore select the button <Change event> or press <ALT + E>

Press the shortcut keys <CTRL + C>. You can also select the corresponding button at the toolbar device inside the explorer window. For this press the toolbar button marked in the red circuit.

The following start window appears:

The window above is tiled into three areas (panels):

Area (panel) one:

At the first panel you can define the following settings:

  • The Reference Event (=Source) the directory from which you want to copy all necessary files.

  • The Eventname

  • The Root of the new Event (=Destination)

Area (panel) two:
General information about the current selected circuit. E.g. the name of the selected circuit and the Tracklength for example. The (default) tracklength will be read from the corresponding "Circuit.ini" file. The correct track length will be calculated automatically by the Analysis software based on the measurement data.
Area (panel) three:

First of all select one of the option "Closed circuit" or "Not closed circuit". "Not closed circuit" is e.g. then meaningfully if you measuring data over a 2D GPS system and you are not on a closed race track ! If you are otherwise on a race track, select these from the list.

Use the button <Only in (...)>  to show all circuits of one selected country. The circuit selection  decide the country. Use the button <Show all circuits> to change from the country dependant view to the normal view (=all circuits).

If you select the option "Closed Circuit", the LapChecker is always started (=from the 2D analysis software). The software calculate the Tracklength based on the measurement data and tries to determine the track characteristic (e.g. track segments). Select the option "Not closed circuit" if you "jump over" this step in the 2D analysis software. (e.g. meaningfully if you use a GPS System on a not closed race track).

Confirm all settings with the button <Ok>. The software automatically sets the new event directory to the entered directory (=Root of new Event)
